THE 17th INTERNATIONAL BIENNIAL OF CHILDREN AND YOUTH GRAPHIC ART - Toruń 2010
2010-01-15
The
UN General Assembly declared 2010 the International Year of
Biodiversity. Biodiversity is also the main theme of this competition.
Biodiversity is a heritage of humanity that must be protected. It is
beauty that can inspire a variety of artistic expression. The richness
of the forms of nature that surrounds us can be an impulse for the
creation of many interesting graphic works.
We
must ensure that the existing ecosystems on the earth will not be
disturbed. We should increase the awareness of the crucial importance
of biodiversity for the world and the risks that lead to the biological
imbalance. Our competition also serves this purpose. Furthermore, its
objective is to promote among children and adolescents graphic art and
various graphic techniques as well as the workshop principles that can
and should be known to them. The Biennial is an opportunity to exchange
experience among its participants, whereas the post-competition
exhibition will serve as a review of graphic works by children and
adolescents from various countries.
